Reiki Initiation • Level I
Explore the practice of Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese energy practice developed by Mikao Usui in the early twentieth century and passed from teacher to student through a tradition of practice, teaching and initiation.
At its heart, Reiki is a gentle practice centred around presence, intention and energetic balance. Through gentle touch or the hands held just above the body, Reiki invites us to slow down, turn our attention inward and reconnect with ourselves.
Reiki Level I is the beginning of this journey.
Through theory, practice, meditation and initiation, you will be introduced to the foundations of the Usui Reiki system and learn how to practise Reiki for yourself and share the practice with others.
No previous Reiki experience is required.
More than a technique
For me, Reiki is not simply a technique we learn to perform. It is a practice of presence.
The Reiki principles invite us to observe how we live, how we relate to ourselves and others, and how we can bring greater awareness, gratitude and compassion into everyday life.
Level I therefore begins with you.
Before thinking about offering Reiki to others, you are invited to develop your own relationship with the practice—to experience it, observe it and allow it to gradually become part of your life.

The Initiation
The initiation is an important part of traditional Reiki training and marks the beginning of your personal Reiki practice.
The Reiki Level I initiation / attunement is offered within the Usui Reiki lineage in which I was initiated.
It is approached with simplicity, presence and respect for the teachings and the lineage through which they have been transmitted.
Every person’s experience is different, and there is no particular sensation or outcome you are expected to have.
Preparation
Reiki Level I is open to anyone. There are no prerequisites for attending the training.
If Reiki is completely new to you, experiencing a private Reiki session before the training can be a beautiful introduction, but it is not a requirement.
During the week before the initiation, I recommend creating a little more space for yourself:
• Drink plenty of water and stay well hydrated.
• Nourish yourself with healthy foods, preferably vegetarian or vegan.
• Spend 5–15 minutes each day in meditation or silence.
• Spend time in nature whenever possible.
• Be gentle with yourself and choose activities that nourish you.
• Allow yourself enough time for rest and sleep.
Preparation is not about following strict rules. It is simply an invitation to arrive rested, present and open to the experience.
What to bring
• Comfortable clothing
• Notebook and pen
• Water bottle
• An open mind and curiosity
The 21-Day Integration Practice
Following the initiation, you are encouraged to begin a 21-day Reiki self-practice, offering yourself a Reiki session each day for 21 consecutive days.
This period is traditionally approached as a time of integration, self-observation and deepening your connection with Reiki.
Rather than focusing on achieving a particular result, the practice invites you to create a daily space for yourself—to slow down, listen inward and become familiar with Reiki through your own direct experience.
You will receive guidance during the training on how to approach and maintain your 21-day self-practice.
